Financial Accountant

The Company:

A great opportunity has arisen to join the finance department within the public sector.  Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will have a key role in the organisation across both financial and management accounting.

The Opportunity:

You will perform a professional level of accounting and assist in the preparation of the annual financial report. With strong attention to detail you will record and classify financial transactions in accordance with policies and accounting standard practice.

• Tax compliance including: GST, FBT and income tax
• Involvement in internal review projects or other investigative analysis.
• Manage the reconciliation of all accounts monthly.
• Ensure that transaction processing complies with company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Resolve accounting issues and discrepancies
• Ensuring general ledger integrity
• Prepare timely management reports and monitor performance against budget

Your Details:

You will be adaptable and results driven with a can-do attitude teamed with a proven track record in a similar position.

• CPA/CA qualified or studying towards this qualification
• Good working knowledge of Oracle /PeopleSoft and advanced Excel is essential
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and high volume environment.
